Responsiblities

  • Brainstorm conceptual directions, both independently and as part of an integrated team

  • Translate words and ideas into high caliber conceptual designs that engage, enlighten and inspire the end user, maintaining campaign and brand continuity and interactive usability

  • Develop a variety of creative materials for brand campaigns, social efforts, digital activations, websites, and printed materials for agency clients. In addition, create assets for prospective client presentations and in-house communications.

  • Collaborate with Creative Director, fellow Art Directors, Copywriters and Content Creators to bring written concepts to life through key visuals, video, digital publication/catalogs, print, website, social, and email.

  • Leverage brand guidelines to create new and inspiring visual solutions.

  • Participate in group reviews of creative work, adding perspective and taking direction as needed

  • Participate in client and internal creative review meetings professionally and passionately presenting the department's work, persuasively explaining design rationale to non designers, collecting and absorbing feedback and offering solutions in real time

  • Deliver design work that meets or exceeds department expectations.

  • Keep current on social trends, advertising campaigns, design trends, and industry technology, sharing findings with the department to facilitate new ways of thinking, working, and problem solving

Qualifications

  • Experience working with Beauty, Nutrition, Food, or CPG clients.

  • Proven ability to develop integrated campaign and executional concepts across channels .Strong understanding of best practices for social, video, digital, publication, print, and collateral creation.

  • Expertise in typography, hierarchy, layout and color.

  • Proficiency in AI and Machine Learning Tools: Demonstrated experience with AI-powered design and creative software, including but not limited to DALL-E, MidJourney, Firefly, Runway ML, or similar platforms.

  • An innate understanding of UX, and up to date knowledge of best practices

  • Experience working on mechanical files for digital and traditional deliverables and releasing final files to vendors and client partners.

  • Knowledgeable about digital file management organization and web-based production workflowsExperience creating assets that meet accessibility standards required.

  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficiency with Mac OSX, InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Sketch, Figma, After Effects, Google Slides and Keynote

  • Ability to work on multiple projects at once and to meet deadlines on a daily basis in a team-oriented environment

  • 3-6 years creative agency experience

Position Summary

The Art Director is a key creative team member. Responsible for supporting the creative team, taking concepts and creating tangible reality while seeing the development and execution of creative projects through completion. Accountable for delivering quality creative products that maintains the integrity of the art concept. Will interface with all levels of the internal team, outside vendors, and work closely with account, production and copywriters.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Creative Development

  • Create collateral in support of various marketing campaigns and utilize experience and know-how to visually communicate a concept

  • Partner with creative team members in creating an environment that fosters creativity, encourages ideas, and promotes growth

  • Participate in project meetings with other creative team members, internal departments, and account teams to communicate rationale behind design executions

  • Work in multiple disciplines to include art direction/design

Project Management

  • Organize multiple jobs and projects on a daily basis, meet deadlines and expectations, and measure and improve productivity

Client Support

  • Meet departmental goals based on specific Client objectives

Travel and/or Driving Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

Education Level: (Required) High School Diploma or GED or equivalent experience

(Preferred) Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Field of Study/Area of Experience: Advertising, Graphic Design, Communications, Journalism) or equivalent job-related experience in related field/industry

  • 2-4 years of experience in similar industry

  • 2-5 years of Design or Director Experience and a strong portfolio of professional creative work

  • 2+ years of work experience in the consumer products, media, or agency business

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

  • Team building Skills

  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize duties with minimal supervision, in order to meet deadlines

  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle a fast-paced work environment

  • Ability to complete multiple duties with accuracy shifting from one to another with frequent interruptions and competing deadline

  • Excellent written communication and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to make oral presentations

  • Ability to visualize and plan objectives and goals strategically

  • Strong computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, and web-browsers

  • Good interpersonal skills

  • Strong prioritization skills

  • Ability to efficiently utilize MAC computers and current fluency in relevant computer programs such as: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, QuarkXPress, Acrobat, and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Entourage)
