Summary

MANAGER DIGITAL MARKETING

As an Manager Digital Marketing, you’ll wear multiple hats to activate each of these pillars—understanding audiences, competitors, all while keeping up with the speed of culture; bringing powerful insights to help influence great creative; and planning campaigns and go-to-market strategies to ensure we reach & engage our client’s audiences.

Ultimately, you’ll drive brand affinity and engagement by identifying, inspiring, and connecting passionate communities of people who share a common belief or purpose with the brands that SixSpeed represents.

*Although our Minneapolis office is accessible, we are open to hiring fully-remote candidates for this position.

THE TASK AT HAND:

  • Develop research plans and conduct in-depth digital ecosystem analysis to uncover unique insights and make informed strategic decisions

  • Manage, train, and inspire a growing engagement strategy department

  • Must respect, understand, and flawlessly execute qualitative and quantitative methods and able to extract meaning from data

  • Study our clients, their industries and their competitors to provide insights and strategic recommendations to clients and internal teams

  • Recommend the most appropriate types of media to use, as well as the most effective time spans, cost schedules and locations

  • Make and maintain good contacts with media owners, such as newspapers, magazines and websites

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of creative to inform future work and proofread content before release

  • Be an expert of the ever shifting marketing landscape to proactively discover industry best practices and unique engagement strategies

  • Help identify areas of growth for the Strategy Team and future engagement capabilities

  • Lead planning, resourcing and execution of Engagement Strategy Team projects in tandem with AM/PM teams and the Director of Strategy

  • Be an integral part of agency development by discovering industry best practices, trends, and new strategies & tactics

  • Assist in the development and execution of SixSpeed marketing and content planning

  • Support Director of Strategy and other stakeholders in new business efforts with strategic approaches and relationship development

  • Effectively communicate engagement team value, approach and capabilities to both clients, partners, and coworkers

  • Understand strategic marketing frameworks, how to apply them, and the ability to effectively teach them to others

Responsibilities

The Company is one of North America’s leading sales and marketing agencies specializing in outsourced sales, merchandising, category management and marketing services to manufacturers, suppliers and producers of food products and consumer packaged goods. The Company services a variety of trade channels including grocery, mass merchandise, specialty, convenience, drug, dollar, club, hardware, consumer electronics and home centers. We bridge the gap between manufacturers and retailers, providing consumers access to the best products available in the marketplace today.

Position Summary

The Manager Digital Marketing oversees a cross functional team of marketing coordinators, marketing strategists and senior marketing strategists in charge of pay-per-click ad campaigns that drive sales on various e-commerce sites. This role ensures the successful execution of campaigns for clients, which includes assigning duties and overseeing the quality of work performed by direct reports.

This role requires a strong understanding of paid search and performance marketing to effectively drive day-to-day tactical execution of the campaigns and continually exceed client expectations. To be successful in this position, an individual must be able to identify performance expectations, give constructive feedback, and present thought leadership to identify growth opportunities across the business.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Team Management

o Oversee a team of Digital Marketing Coordinators, Digital Marketing Strategists and Senior Digital Marketing Strategists

o Appropriately delegate to maintain a reasonable and balanced workload for all direct reports

o Determine the appropriate time to bring on new team members, conduct the interview process, and maintain responsibility for hiring and corrective actions when necessary

o Identify performance expectations, give timely and constructive feedback, and conduct formal performance appraisals and goals sessions for direct reports

o Participate and lead team, department and agency training sessions

o Help inform and prioritize our service offerings by regularly collecting feedback and providing input on how to improve our business strategies

Campaign Management

o Ensure the campaign management team is delivering the desired outcome for our clients and that each client’s satisfaction is maintained

o Support direct reports in troubleshooting issues that arise with campaign execution

o Communicate at risk campaigns or client situations to manager and appropriate stakeholders

o Manage and continually improve reporting for all campaigns

o Provide strategic direction on client calls

o Proactively identify growth opportunities within existing clients for additional partnerships and service offerings

o Cultivate and maintain a positive relationship with retailer and vendor partner managers

New Technology Implementation

o Work with Manager(s) to develop and plan strategies for testing new technology prior to full-team rollouts, including reporting out on performance and evaluating potential obstacles around implementation (process and financial)

o Lead operational training initiatives to introduce new technology to wider team, including post implementation quality assurance, troubleshooting and optimization management

o Help provide strategy and direction for the technology and reporting efforts that should be implemented by team to improve performance

Process

o Maintain and develop best practices for running a team of paid search experts

o Partner and collaborate with other teams and agencies to identify areas for process improvement, centered around delivering client value and success

Supervisory Responsibilities

Direct Reports

  • Hires, retains, trains, coaches, guides, directs, and develops direct reports using company-wide processes, tools and resources

Indirect Reports

  • May delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

Travel and/or Driving Requirements

Minimum Qualifications The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job

Education Level: (Required): Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Field of Study/Area of Experience:

3-5 years of experience in Digital Marketing, eCommerce or related field, preferably in an Agency environment and with prior management experience

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment.
