Summary

Junior Content Manager

The Junior Content Manager reports to the Agency’s Content Manager and works with cross-functional groups across Creative, Concepting, Production and Account Service to complete assigned tasks.

Food, beverage, and lifestyle are the focal themes throughout the agency’s library of content and takes multiple forms, including (in order of importance and volume of development): recipes, food photography, food and beverage videos and article content. The Jr. Content Manager will be responsible for developing and editing copy to support developments across these areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with Content Manager to support the development of new content and maintain existing high-quality content; assuring it has the proper tone, messaging, and effectiveness to support recipe card and custom publishing product segments.

  • Execute content plans based on established editorial calendars to support annual product development.

  • Build and maintain a content library, managing error-free database entries of developed content.

  • Leverage market data and analytics (in partnership with Agency Insights and Analytics Team) to develop content themes/topics.

  • Keep abreast of popular culture, marketing trends, industry developments, and competitive activities with the intentions of applying that “insight” to content development.

  • Support agency partners with coordination of deliverables and updates across multiple departments including; Sales, Account Service, Creative, Production, and Fulfillment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Food Studies or Culinary Arts or equivalent job-related experience or Marketing or Business degree with experience and/or interest in culinary arts is preferred

  • 1-3 years of experience in experience in content marketing, copywriting or journalism is a plus

  • Experience in creative database management strongly preferred, preferably in a publishing, advertising, marketing or related field

  • Must have a basic knowledge of the industry and working understanding of content marketing as a discipline

  • Must have a background, expertise or passion for food writing and culinary arts

  • Proficiency in database management, preferably in a publishing, advertising, marketing or related field

Position Summary

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Content Development

  • Work directly with Content Manager to support development of new content and maintain existing high-quality content; assuring it has the proper tone, messaging, and effectiveness to support recipe card and custom publishing product segments

  • Execute content plans based on established editorial calendars to support annual product development

  • Build and maintain content library, managing error free database entries of developed content

  • Leverage market data and analytics (in partnership with Agency Insights and Analytics Team) to develop content themes/topics

  • Keep abreast of popular culture, marketing trends, industry developments, and competitive activities with the intentions of applying that “insight” to content development

  • Maintain regular updates to the agency’s content library, including managing vendor relationships from project start to finish in development of new content in a support role

  • Develop, write, and edit content (text, photos, video) from internal sources, vendor partners, and freelance subject matter experts to be used in client deliverables and agency products to ensure content is on strategy and in-line with client and agency needs

Cross-Functional Support

  • Support agency partners with coordination of deliverables and updates across multiple departments including; Sales, Account Service, Creative, Production, and Fulfillment

  • Communicate and interact effectively with agency team members in all departments to deliver timely information and reports

Does not have direct reports, but may delegate work of others and provide guidance, direction and mentoring to indirect reports

Minimum Qualifications

Education Level: (Preferred): Bachelor's Degree

Field of Study/Area of Experience

  • Journalism, Food Studies or Culinary Arts or equivalent job-related experience or Marketing or Business degree with experience and/or interest in culinary arts is preferred.

  • 1-3 years of experience in experience in content marketing, copywriting or journalism is a plus

Skills, Knowledge, Abilities, and Software/Tools

  • Experience in creative database management strongly preferred, preferably in a publishing, advertising, marketing or related field

  • Must have a basic knowledge of the industry and working understanding of content marketing as a discipline

  • Must have a background, expertise or passion for food writing and culinary arts

  • Detail-oriented with excellent project management skills

  • Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures

  • Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

  • Possess a wide degree of creativity and latitude

  • Ability to prioritize and organize effectively

  • Passion and experience in culinary arts is highly preferred

  • Proficiency in database management, preferably in a publishing, advertising, marketing or related field

  • Self-starter who is able to effectively handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
