Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with creative team to provide proofreading services as a function in creating timely and professional creative materials including, but not limited to program POS/POP, FSI’s, Circulation Ads, Internal Collateral, PowerPoint Decks, New Business Pitch Materials, Recipes, Newsletter Publications, Style Guides and all other assigned content projects

  • Prioritize projects against high volume and tight turn around schedules

  • Correct grammatical, typographical or compositional errors in original copy

  • Provide precise and timely review of marketing materials for accurate use of logic, composition, style and brand; must be able to check, monitor and maintain brand consistency

  • Update an ongoing comprehensive reference library to easily access all Style Guide information for each Client/Brand

  • Set up meetings and constantly review ways to improve process and quality of documents Maintain a system with Program Managers and Creative teams to help prioritize programs during high-volume periods

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or equivalent experience required

  • 3-5 years of experience in Agency editing, copywriting or proofreading

  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle a fast-paced work environment

  • Strong written communication and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to ensure a high level of service and quality is maintained

  • Good interpersonal and team building skills

The hourly rate for this role is $32.00-$34.00

Responsibilities

Position Summary

The Proofreader is responsible for reading creative documents for grammar, style and brand consistency, and for validating the accuracy, completeness of changes and content to ensure high quality deliverables for all creative documentation is produced by the Agency.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

Proofreading

  • Collaborate with creative team to provide proofreading services as a function in creating timely and professional creative materials including, but not limited to program POS/POP, FSI’s, Circulation Ads, Internal Collateral, PowerPoint Decks, New Business Pitch Materials, Recipes, Newsletter Publications, Style Guides and all other assigned content projects

  • Prioritize projects against high volume and tight turn around schedules

  • Correct grammatical, typographical or compositional errors in original copy

  • Validate the accuracy and completeness of changes to all documentation produced by the team

  • Verifies all facts (including dates, names, social and/or political appropriateness, etc.) contained within all assigned projects

  • Provide precise and timely review of marketing materials for accurate use of logic, composition, style and brand

  • Must be able to check, monitor and maintain brand consistency

  • Work with marketing managers and art directors to make copy refinement recommendations when appropriate or necessary

  • Work with art directors to offer minor design recommendations when appropriate or necessary

  • Assist in maintaining consistency and standards in language and format

  • Provide content for style guides as needed to drive consistency across all materials

  • Manage and prioritize a high volume of work under tight deadlines

  • Continually expand awareness of current advertising trends, advertising and brand strategy, and company goals

Reference Library

  • Partner with creative team to maintain Client Style Guides

  • Update an ongoing comprehensive reference library to easily access all Style Guide information for each Client/Brand (which include: Logos, Legal and Trademark mandatory requirements)

  • Retain accurate records of changes in brand guidelines

Collaborate

  • Set up meetings and constantly review ways to improve process and quality of documents Maintain a system with Program Managers and Creative teams to help prioritize programs during high-volume periods

Minimum Qualifications

Education Level: (Required) Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Field of Study/Area of Experience: Business

  • 3-5 years of experience in Agency editing, copywriting or proofreading

  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle a fast-paced work environment

  • Strong written communication and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to complete multiple duties with accuracy shifting from one to another with frequent interruptions and competing deadlines

Environmental & Physical Requirements

Incumbent must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. Work is performed primarily in an office environment. Typically requires the ability to sit for extended periods of time (66%+ each day), ability to hear the telephone, ability to enter data on a computer and may also require the ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
