What is a Principal Data Architect @ Advantage Intelligence
A Principal Data Architect @ Advantage Intelligence is a senior level architect. The Principal Data Architect needs to understand the business needs, explores the existing data structure, and creates a blueprint for building an integrated framework of easily accessible, secure data aligned with Advantage business strategy. The Principal Data Architect works with other architects to define the processes involved in testing and maintaining the data solutions. Within Advantage Intelligence, a Principal Data Architect utilizes their training in analytics and various coding programs to analyze information and draw conclusions based on their findings.
Responsibilities for Principal Data Architect @ Advantage Intelligence
· Primary Responsibilities:
o Develop and implement an overall organizational data strategy that aligns with business processes. The strategy includes data model designs, database development standards, implementation and management of data warehouses and data analytics systems
o Manage end-to-end data architecture, from selecting the platform, designing the technical architecture, and developing the application to finally testing and implementing the proposed solution
o Ensure the security of all information and computer systems and digital data
o Ensure adherence to government regulations and guidelines for technological systems and safeguarding of the data
o Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing budgets, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions
· Secondary Responsibilities:
o Research and properly evaluate sources of information to determine possible limitations in reliability or usability
o Prepare detailed reports for management and other departments by analyzing and interpreting data
o Refer to previous instances and findings to determine the ideal method for gathering data
o Maintain domain knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations
o Coach and mentor engineering teams to raise collective technical expertise
Qualifications / Skills / Requirements
· Outstanding collaboration and communication skills are essential
· 5+ yrs. Experience working in a Distributed/Cloud-based environment (Azure or AWS or GCP)
· 5+ yrs. Experience building cloud scalable, real-time, and high-performance data lake solutions leveraging cloud-native data warehouse/lake, modern data stack (I.e., airflow), streaming technologies (Azure EventHub, Kafka, or AWS Kinesis), Snowflake experience is a strong plus
· 5+ yrs. Experience with modern build strategies, CICD, unit testing, static analysis, and automated integration tests, DevOps concepts and scripting
· 5+ yrs. Experience with reporting tools like Power BI, Tableau
· 5+ yrs. Experience with NoSQL databases
· 5+ yrs. Experience deploying Data as a service (DaaS) and containerization
· Solid data modeling and SQL skills with the ability to work with non-relational data stores
· Demonstrate a track record of leading within complex organizations requiring strong influence management skills - the ability to work cooperatively at all levels in a matrix environment

Position Summary
The Solutions Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of application development projects ensuring those map to business requirements as well as systems/technical requirements. The Solutions Architect works as a team member along with the Software Engineering team to develop and deliver complete solutions for the Advantage Sales and Marketing business units and clients.
• Manages the selection and/or recommendations of technologies and platforms used in application development efforts
• Acts as a Subject Matter Expert for used technologies and platforms
• Researches and manages implementation of suitable technology updates/upgrades across applications
• Works as a team member on the application development team to ensure business needs are being met
• Writes code based on business requirements
• Audits and give final approval of code before production releases
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities
Job Duty
Software Development
• Design, develop, unit test, and deploy code
• Update and upgrade development environments and infrastructure
• Audit code written by application development engineers against development standards
• Mentor application development engineers on best practices and acquired skills/knowledge
• Ensure all source code is accounted for, organized, and documented
• Manage deployment of code to production environments
Research
• Locate and recommend up-to-date practices, including 3rd Party solution alternatives, as part of the functional design of applications
• Work with stakeholders to architect applications so they are designed to evolve and grow with the business
End User Support
• Triage and troubleshoot issues with users
• Support user training
• Manage transition of application support to the Help Desk team

Minimum Qualifications The following are the minimum job-related qualifications which an individual needs in order to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the job
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
Field of Study/Area of Experience: MIS, Computer Science or comparable major
10+ years of experience in using Microsoft Technology Stack including C#/.NET, or related experience
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
• Good knowledge of related technologies such as WPF, ASP.NET, SQL, AJAX, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Subversion, Hibernate, jQuery, MVC, or other related skills
• Experience working with business clients or customers
• Experience with multiple phases of the SDLC
• Should have strong leadership, analytical and quantitative analysis skills
• Familiarity with tools, concepts & methodology of business analysis
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Sound coordination and follow up skills
